The Winery

Along with the right equipment, care and pride are "musts" for the winemakers at Breezy Hills Vineyard.

As visitors peek through the winery window, they see the standard equipment used for processing fruit, fermenting wine, and bottling. Much of the equipment has been imported from Italy but on a smaller scale than most commercial wineries. Almost all of the equipment is made of stainless steel and food grade plastics to comply with food processing standards and quality assurance.

The winery was first licensed by the Tax & Trade Bureau (a division of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms) and with the State of Iowa in 2003. Although our current production capacity could be stretched to produce nearly 3,000 gallons of wine per year, first year production was limited by fruit availability to less than 2,000 gallons of assorted grape and fruit wines.

We are quite proud of our winery and the hand crafted wines we produce.
